And One Thing Led to Another
May 28th 2026.
Waxing Gibbous in Scorpio.
I pulled The World and The Wheel of Fortune.
Wheel of Fortune inverted.
I thought I was pulling only one card but they came together.
Last night, I decided that I’d publish everyday.
I write everyday.
I have my own website that I can do whatever the fuck I want on.
So why not?
Can … do whatever the fuck I want in general.
So I’ll publish everyday.
I also decided that I’m taking my music off spotify and tidal and all the other bullshit entities that subsidize people’s art and creative energy.
I’m not paying spotify anymore.
There’s a technics sl-1200 sitting beside me and my car has a six disc CD player.
MP3 players are like… $40.
Opting out.
The algorithm at the end of the day is no better than…
Walking into Rough Trade Records … being intrigued by an album’s artwork, putting the headphones on, pressing play and hearing King Gizzard and The Wizard Lizard for the first time.
Deciding 15 seconds into Sense that you would not leave the store without that record and reliving that experience every time the needle dropped.
What are we participating in for the sake of…
Convenience?
For all of the records in my collection, I can recall where they were purchased, what that day was like, who was with me, etc.
The experience.
But the music streamed…
Fodder in my mindscape.
It’s not about being the first to listen at midnight so you can share your shitty take on X before anyone else.
Imagine that’s what people made music for?
Pouring their souls and life experiences into their music just for some cuck to listen to the album one time after having done no work to discover it, not having lived with it, to hear it only in the context of the music constantly being interrupted in their ear wax filled AirPods by Instagram reels and DoorDash notifications just to say
“This album is trash.”
But… maybe that’s what people are making music for now?
Supply and demand right?
Why not drop three albums in one night to see what sticks?
Optimizing past the point of experience.
Bring back Big Ghost.
Anyway..
I asked myself some time ago, how can I live in a more right brain aligned world…
The answer keeps revealing itself in … how I participate in that world…
And when I step back.. examine my world, I see there’s a lot of opting out that needs to be done.
