The Bee's Knees
July 6th.
Monday Morning.
Eggs. Oatmeal.
Monday morning’s eggs are usually not my best work, but today we’ve raised the bar.
Today we’ve raised the bar…
I sit here now in the evening with a bowl of strawberries topped with some lemon juice, honey, and maldon sea salt.
My off the bike version of sour gummy bears… much better with frozen blueberries and lime juice but I’m not complaining.
It’s strawberry season and I have yet to have a bad one (nor will I) this year.
My daughter is sitting on my lap as I type this and that brings me joy.
Immense joy.
She’s also the strawberry queen and ensures that I don’t eat any bad ones.
Two bike rides today.
A solo venture in the morning, and I accompanied a friend on a group ride in the evening.
60 mile day.
I feel myself generally pleased with life.
Like just about the same amount of joy my daughter has as she spoons the honey, salt, and lemon juice mixture into her mouth…
Now we’re dipping fingers into the honey…
And here’s mom
“what’re you licking?”
I’m not willing to interrupt my baby girl’s joy although it is a little late for such a treat…
I think I had sat down to write about…
Ah..
I sat down to write about how I couldn’t believe that … the world was once as dark as I thought it was.
There’s a lot of light in it if you allow yourself to see it.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
and that’s exactly what I’d expect a toddler whose finger is covered in honey to type.
Until tomorrow.
Hmm wait…
I think we’re all curious…
The Sun appears again.
