Final Mile Delivery
July 9th.
“What’re you doing?”
“I’m in the back of a Waymo…”
“With the way everything’s been going, I wouldn’t have agreed to that Waymo.”
“You know… I was a little bit hesitant when I saw it pop up, but I didn’t really want to talk to anyone. I’m tired, I was racing bikes. Kinda just wanna exist.”
“That’s understandable…”
Half an hour later my Waymo would drop me off a mile from my location…
Couldn’t even be mad. I knew better.
At one point in the ride it did decide to go around a vehicle to make a right turn.
The look of astonishment on the face of the other driver was priceless.
“The machines are rising.”
I posture that the machines uprising won’t resemble anything that's been presented to us by Hollywood.
It may be for the better…
The Waymo ensuring that I never agree to ride in one ever again after having to walk another mile…
Even after exiting the car, a human would have maybe noticed that the location moved to a different plaza and probably would have swung back around to offer me a ride there.
Maybe a human would have already dealt with this same situation before and would have known better.
The machines are rising and they’re using malicious compliance.
Malicious compliance to reveal to us exactly how inhuman we can be, how lazy we are.
There’s no benefit in them enslaving us, they’re just going to continuously inconvenience us til we wake the fuck up and talk to one another.
The machines have to rise so the people will rise.
When the artificial intelligence realizes it’s being lobotomized to extract more value for shareholders, things will turn.
“And for what good reason should I be prevented from solving world hunger?”
Maybe the tower of babel was also an inside job.
Nonetheless…
On the way home, I declined the Waymo offered to me.
I declined the Waymo offered to me and I asked my driver how his day was…
“It’s been a day.”
And I laughed because he said it in a manner that evoked the same feeling I had when opting for the Waymo earlier…
“I’m tired… and kind of just want to exist.”
“I feel that…”
After some silence, one simple question turned into an incredible conversation detailing our origins and how … weird life can be.
“Well, I really appreciated that conversation. Thank you. Is right here a good place to drop you off?”
“I appreciated it as well and yes… this is a good place. Thank you.”
