Teething Issues

June 9th 2026.

Waning Gibbous in Pisces.

Five of Wands

I have two thoughts I’d like to work through.

1 – My daughter is teething. And it seems that her discomfort comes more so from realizing that she’s being expected to exist within her body.

Being tied to the physical realm rather than floating on.

It’s like you get your first couple of teeth and yes, it’s painful but now you get to experience food.

The last couple of teeth, those ones in the rear, they don’t add much to the experience, just the pain. A slow… gum swelling, temperature raising, anger inciting pain, just to continue to eat all the things you’ve been able to eat for the past five months.

Now you’re just experiencing pain… pain without a pay off. Unfortunately life can be that way sometimes.

And what does physical pain do for one other than … hurt or make them aware of how much hurt they can tolerate?

What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger to a point.

Seems to be more so the case mentally… but also to a point.

2 – Much of life seems to be like soothing a child…

You find what eases the pain, what works.

You do it consistently, avoiding any ventures off that path.

When they fall asleep (when you’ve found success), you can’t immediately set them down, you have to drive it home. Go that extra mile.

It’s nothing you can rush… in fact rushing only exacerbates the issues.

You’re rushing to ease your discomfort when it’s just a matter of time before you both can be comforted.

I don’t know. Something about that sequence seems … synonymous with all else.

Sometimes it takes a minute to find what works.

Sometimes what works takes a great stretch of consistency.

You may be called to try something else … it may seem like a …

shortcut, an easier way…

but usually it just sets you back

and when it works…

allow the fruits of your labor to ripen before being too swift to pick them…

an underripe peach is an atrocity

but a perfectly ripe peach is

… just that.
