A Saab Story

July 16th.

Queen of Wands.

I turned the stovetop on so my pan could pre-heat for my eggs.

I walked over to the back door to get a feel for the weather and just as I cracked it open, a bolt of lightning lit up the sky.

Reflexively, I quickly closed it back.

Delta and I started laughing and looked on as the sky proceeded to darken.

A Microfreak.

A Digitakt.

A SL-1200.

A Profx10v3.

This is a much better way to make music.

The glow of audio equipment.

Almost reminds me of the glow that comes from a C-130J’s HDD’s.

The glow from my GC8’s gauge cluster.

I was always impressed by the gauge cluster on Saabs. The way the higher end of the speedometer doesn’t illuminate until you approach the speeds it indicates.

A ‘91 Saab 900 SPG.

Black of course.

It’s a shame that everything is so … harsh. So cold now.

Everything moved into a digital world and its texture done away with.

From using a scribe and a piece of limestone, to a quill and an inkwell, to the ballpoint pen, the typewriter, the word processor, the keyboard, touchscreens, speech-to-text.

The word, language…

It all so powerful but it’s moved further and further away from… being tangible..

Being…

Bond.

Word is bond.

But is it bond if the energy and intention behind it requires…

No real input?

Getting even …

More into the woo, if you will.

Somehow.. one is able to…

conceive an idea and transmit it into … something that exists physically.

It seems like…

Fuck..

I know exactly what I’m trying to say but I’m struggling to find the words.

It…

Is…

Interesting…

Magical even…

It is a magical experience to receive information that you can then turn into …

Art.

As much as I’m transcribing the words that are … coming to my mind…

I’m still only transmitting whatever this … information is…

In a way that I am able to make sense of (barely)

In fact, trying to transmit it in a way that makes sense, a way that I understand … the english language

makes it make less sense.

Which is the whole point of this but … sometimes…

I really get caught up on what it feels like to be aware and conscious of this whole…

undergoing.

Consider…

How we got to this point.

A saab story.

Jumping back in..

The screens really do seem to be an issue.

The flat… soulless…

Void.

There can’t be much difference between staring into a screen all day and staring into a void.

The void may be more beneficial as at least your mind is given the opportunity to wander and imagine rather than being hijacked by a never ending amount of stimuli.

The call to the void.

A reason to keep one’s notifications turned off.
